Specifically, it refers to an extended surface evaporator in which the coil (wire tube, or thin tube) through which the refrigerant flows is welded to the surface of one or several metal sheets. This evaporator design improves evaporation efficiency by increasing the heat exchange area and is widely used in many fields such as refrigeration, air conditioning and chemical industry.
Ⅰ. Structural features
Combination of coil and metal plate: The core of the tube-on-tube evaporator is to weld the coil through which the refrigerant flows tightly to the surface of the metal plate to form an extended heat exchange surface.
Efficient heat exchange: By increasing the heat exchange area, the tube-on-tube evaporator can more effectively transfer the heat of the refrigerant to the surrounding medium, thereby improving the evaporation efficiency.
Ⅱ. Working principle
The working principle of the tube-on-tube evaporator is similar to that of other evaporators, mainly based on the evaporation process of the liquid. In the evaporator, the refrigerant flows in the coil and exchanges heat with the external environment through the metal plate. When the refrigerant obtains enough heat, its temperature reaches the boiling point and begins to vaporize on the surface of the coil to form steam. The steam is then discharged from the evaporator, while the remaining liquid refrigerant continues to flow for the next round of heat exchange and evaporation process.
